Geography

Notable Features

Manzanares river, Cantabrian Mountains, Sierra del Escudo (subset of Cantabrian Range), Zaragosa Fortress built on the Puerto del Saimon (major mountain route to saimonia). The Ambroz valley - known for its wine production, important interior route from east to west through the Escudo. The salt air of the coastal lands makes wine production less excellent elsewhere in the country but the protected interior is particularly wonderful, slightly higher but not alpine.
