Hello everyone!
I'm delighted to finally announce the first release of the New Website! It's colorful, it's shiny, and it has a bunch of information about game! Most exciting, in my opinion, is the New Player section, after many, many years at Legacies without a New Player's Guide. You can access the site here:

It's not fully complete - as you can see, there's plenty still in progress. Specifically:
- We're still working on the Wiki
- We haven't fully moved over to the main legacieslarp.org url yet
- Preregistration is still through an external store at https://www.legacieslarp.space/
- The website currently can only be accessed with HTTPS. If you can't connect, make sure you've included the s in the URL.
The old site can still be accessed at https://legacieslarp.org/, but will be going away... eventually.
This does mean that I have a favor to ask - if, while using the website, you find spots that look buggy or not quite right, tell me about it! Similarly, if there's something we don't have online yet that would be really helpful to you, shoot me a message so I can prioritize accordingly.
This website is currently set up to be helpful to you all, the current Legacies playership. We aren't quite ready to start advertising to the world at large yet, but we will be soon!
Finally, I'm always looking for help - if you want favor and you know a thing or two about website development or server administration, send me a message! Alternatively, if you're a writer, editor, artist, photographer, or otherwise want to help out with some content for the site, please reach out as well!

Hello everyone! We’re excited to announce the creation of a new team at Legacies - the Public Relations Team. Legacies PR will be working on bringing more new players to the game we all know and love, primarily via running some cool new social media accounts. We’ll also do outreach with other organizations and generally try and act as the public face of Legacies.
For weekly content like spotlights on work done in the org, opportunities to show off your own projects, and cute doggos, check us out on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Covid Policy Reminder

Hello everyone!
We are all very excited to see you at game this weekend! With that, we would like to explain our current Covid Policy:
To attend, you are required to have both shots of the Vaccine (but not the booster). You will be asked to show your Vaccine card, or a picture of it.
We have lifted the masking requirements, but if you desire to wear a mask at game, the phys-repping and immersion requirements will continue to be waived. Please do what you are most comfortable with around masking, be it maskless or N95’s.
Symptom attestations and Vaccine checks will now be at the logistics table rather than as you enter site, and we will no longer be conducting temperature checks.
Until then, happy last-minute-crafting, packing, and grocery shopping!
January Game Cancelled

We were holding out hopes for a January game to kick off the year with, but we regret to announce that January Event will also be cancelled. With the weather and the holidays, the paperwork needed for Middlegrounds to host us has been delayed. We apologize for any scheduling conflicts this may have caused. The good news is that the State Parks are beginning to take reservations again, so we can hopefully start seeing some more event dates to fill out our year.
Thank you for your patience and support as we continue to get game running again after the long hiatuses. We can’t wait to see you all at game again.
Squarespace is Back!

As you may have noticed, there have been some updates and cleaning up on some of the Resource Channels. Although this is still a work in process to clean it up for easier accessibility, the primary reason behind this is to update the link to the new Legacies Squarespace!
That's right, it's up and running again for all of your pre-registering, pre-paying, and pass-buying needs! Go give it a look at http://www.legacieslarp.space/, and please let us know if you have any trouble with it. Unfortunately, Squarespace doesn't provide the option of removing the 'shipping' options, but there will be no additional charges no matter where you purchase from. We hope this will continue to serve as an easy option as we continue to roll-out the new website, and many thanks to the Web team for your tireless efforts.
December Game Cancelled

We apologize for the last minute nature of this announcement, but we are getting the news to you as quickly as it becomes available to us. Unfortunately, December Event has been cancelled.
We are aware that we do not have another game currently schedules, but we are talking with the owners of Middlegrounds about scheduling, and will hopefully have news for you in that front very soon.

November Game Cancelled

We regret to inform you that we must cancel game once again. The owners of Middlegrounds are dealing with zoning issues and must cease operations for the time being. Consequently we do not have a site. We deeply regret the short notice of this cancellation, but the issues came upon Middlegrounds, and thus us, quite suddenly.
The owners of Middlegrounds are working hard to resolve the situation, but it is impossible to predict how long it will take for them to deal with these new bureaucratic hurdles.
We are hopeful that matters will be cleared up before December, but since we cannot be certain the executive team will be examining our alternatives, including other sites. Please watch for further announcements as we will be updating you when we know more.
October Game Cancelled

Everyone, we have some unfortunate news to report.
The big windstorm that passed through the region unfortunately downed some trees at Middlegrounds, and subsequently knocked out the power. The owner has contacted us and let us know that this can not be fixed until Monday, and therefore, due to lack of power and safety concerns, our October game this weekend has been cancelled. He assures us that the site will be up and running by November game.
We apologize for the inconvenience of this last minute announcement.

Health and Safety reminder for October event

We will still be requiring all players to present their Vaccine proof (be it physical or a picture) before they can enter site. We can expect this to be the standard for a while, but it’s worth reiterating for our new arrivals. On top of that, we will be instating attestations (those symptom checks some people have to sign before going into work) and temperature checks (the no-touch forehead scanning ones). One more addition, in accordance with the restrictions set on day-camps that include under-18s in attendance, we will be requiring masks indoors at all times except for when eating and sleeping. Please remember to socially distance as much as possible when you are in a situation where you need to remove your mask. Please bring more than one mask with you to game, and change them out if you start having a hard time breathing through them. Although we would prefer you use non-immersion breaking masks, safety comes first, so if rainbow cats is all you have, please use that over nothing.
Square is Down

As I am sure you have noticed, the Squarespace pre-register/pre-pay service hasn't been updated yet. Due to some unforeseen errors, the Square Site is currently not functioning properly, and as such for the next few events until it is updated we sadly will not be able to do the prepaying style. So please be sure to bring cash to pay for game if you did not plan to do so already. If you need to pay with a card, reach out and we can try to work something out with you, but for now we are accepting cash only for pay.
If you have purchased any event bundles those will of course continue to work, but IF YOU INTEND TO BUY AN EVENT BUNDLE, PLEASE PAY IN CASH AT SITE AND DO NOT USE THE SQUARE SITE.

We at Legacies wish to take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate all the work, time, and effort our long time Executive Officer Ray has put into this community. He has contributed to keeping this game going for years and deserves a hearty round of applause and many pats on the back. Thank you to our Bot Overlord, Logistics Golem, and crier of Final Fantasy XIV, your impact on Legacies will be seen for many years to come.
It is with this announcement that Ray will be stepping down from his role as Executive Officer. This is a transition that has been months in the making, and we seek to continue through that smooth transition in the coming months. We will keep you, the players and staff, informed about the open position, but for now, everyone please send your gratitude towards Ray across the platforms.

Hello again!
Game is nearly upon us, and with that I bring some last minute announcements.
As some of you may have heard, with the delta variant of covid out and about, our Governor has recommended that we mask indoors whether we are vaccinated or not. For this reason we are highly recommending that you wear masks while indoors at this event. This is not a requirement as we know sleeping in a mask may be difficult, and we are sharing sleeping spaces, however we still urge mask wearing indoors when you are comfortable.
Along with this, we will still be checking for proof of vaccine as you drive up to site, so don't forget to bring that along.
One more thing, please don't forget to pre-register for game on the square site: http://www.legacieslarp.store/ so that we can get an accurate estimate on how many people will be attending.

New Monthly Production Sheet!

I am happy to announce the completion of a brand new Monthly Production Sheet for Legacies! This new and updated sheet has space set aside for basic production, both regular smith and tinkerer upgrading, and the brand new feature of built in compatibility for sending in your production for up to two characters at a time!
The output of this sheet will be on the first page, and is specifically built to have the subject and body be copy and pasted directly into your monthly email to logistics to make everyones lives just a little bit easier.

Double Production Update

Good news! In the spirit of fairness we have decided that everyone gets double production for their first event back as a PC, provided they make it back by the November event. This means that those who can't make it this month and those who want to NPC will not lose the benefit and that the current plot team will benefit as well. The November deadline is simply because we can't realistically track this forever. Again, every player can enjoy double production for their first post COVID event, from now until the November event.

Knyfe Rock Seige Update for July Event

Well folks, it's been a long 3 months up in Knyfe Rock. Throughout this time, walls have been raised, barricades built, and traps set out in no-mans-land. Thanks to the work of local Seers, multiple Husking Ritual attempts have been thwarted.
Over the course of the Siege, all the back-up forces the Crusade has had marching up from the South are now present in full force, which is not to say much, as they have also taken heavy losses.
Have no fear, the bands and tribes of Warwick are here! Local Orc and Barbarian Tribes have funneled in to provide support to Knyfe Rock, along with varying Bands of Trandafir, who know what it's like to face an attempted Genocide. Some of these forces have been picking at the back lines of the Crusade, while others have been snuck in through carefully hidden back entries and tunnels into Knyfe Rock Proper.
However, after all this time, supplies are harder to come by, morale is low, and the Crusade has become more aggressive, desperate to claim ground, taking more risks and attacking at night. Unfortunately, as with all wars of attrition, diseases and infections are spreading. What's more, the Morgoths in the area are becoming more bold, and both the Crusade and Knyfe Rock have suffered for it.
Fearing they may lose ground, the Leaders of Knyfe Rock have started sneaking children and non-combatants North to safety. They are convinced the big push is coming.
Prepare yourselves at the Knyfe Rock Forward Camp, for the final battle against the forces of Aldarion Brittlehusk is near at hand.

Quick Addendum to Vaccine Requirement

We will not be making any exceptions to the vaccination requirement at this time, not even for those medically unable to get the vaccine. We do hope to eventually be able to allow such individuals to attend, but current guidelines make clear that we cannot. We apologize for the mistake in the earlier post. Just like our Canadian players, any such individual will get the same first game back benefits once they are able to attend.

Greetings everyone! It is my pleasure to finally announce the official reopening date for Legacies LARP! Our first event back will be this upcoming July 23 - 25, 2021 at Middlegrounds LARP site.
*pause for applause*
It has been a very long time and we've all been through a tough year but we can finally start holding events again thanks to the increased availability of the Covid vaccine to Washington residents and new CDC guidelines allowing for fully vaccinated folks to resume normal interactions without masks or social distancing. So now that you have the date of course you might have some questions, hopefully I can get to answering most of them.
We will be requiring **ALL** players and staff in attendance be fully vaccinated prior to event weekend. This means it has been at least two full weeks since you received the full vaccination (single shot for J&J or the 2nd shot for Pfizer/Moderna). The ONLY exception to this rule will be if you are able to provide medical proof as to why you are unable to receive the vaccine signed off by a medical professional.
There will be staff stationed at the entrance to the Middlegrounds site that will intercept cars in the parking lot asking you to show completed vaccination cards for everyone in your car before you are able to leave your vehicles. We cannot stress enough how strict we must be about this rule to make the reopening safe for everyone. If you are to arrive on site and have not received a complete vaccination or do not have your completed vaccination card on you to serve as proof, you will be denied entry onto site.
With this vaccination requirement in mind, this means:
1) We do not need to social distance at event.
2) Masks are encouraged especially if you still have any hesitations about public gatherings but will not be a requirement.
3) We will not need any modified rules to limit touch casting or close combat between players.
This is all very exciting and we cannot wait to see you all again!
Now for a bit of the boring logistics parts, we ask that you please have patience with all our teams as we brush off the cobwebs and get everything started and up to speed. As of right now Logistics is open again and will be accepting emails for character updates, production, questions, rewrites, etc. I will take this time to remind everyone that all production is doubled for this first event back and if you have submitted any updates or production before today, please resubmit them or forward your email again to logistics @ legacieslarp.org just so I am reminded of everyone's requests.
Additionally, last May Plot offered bonus blanket to anyone interacting with plot by email or roleplaying on the Discord server at the camps. I will be getting a final list from Plot and have all that blanket assigned to player profiles by the end of this weekend so keep that in mind when requesting for your character sheets before this Sunday.
As most of you know, the pre-registration functionality on the current website is still disabled. If you would like to pre-register for July event you may visit legacieslarp.store. There will be an option to simply declare your pre-registration for free and pay the day of event when you arrive, or you may prepay for event online which will also serve as your pre-registration. Remember that if you are paying or registering for other players to include their names in the Notes section at check-out. July event is not on the Square store right this moment but I will be making it available by the end of the night so keep an eye out for it.
Lastly to our Canadian players, we understand that the US-Canada border is still closed to all but essential travel and that the vaccination distribution is being handled differently. The last article I read said the border closure has been extended again until June 22. Since we cannot anticipate how long the border will remain closed, should it still be closed leading up to the first event back we will extend the double production rule to our Canadian players for the first event that they are able to rejoin us.
Well, this has been a long enough post so that is all I am throwing at you for now. You can expect updates from Plot and Logistics in the coming weeks as we finalize everything you need to know going into our first event back. November 2020 Events Status Update

Hello Everyone,
I know this is pretty late coming, we overlooked making a formal announcement on this matter partly out of hope that things might turn for the better partly because life has hit a lot of us hard in different ways, however we have received news today that new statewide restrictions on public and indoor gatherings are going to be reinstated starting tomorrow, November 16 and lasting until at least December 15. I don't wanna go into the specifics of the restrictions here but this does mean we are still unable to hold events safely. The reason for our announcement today is, I'm sure to no ones surprise, that we are going to officially put Legacies into a 'Closed Until Further Notice' status. We realized that we never actually said the words and wanted to make sure that everyone was on the same page concerning the status of events right now. I sincerely apologize if the delay for this official announcement has been inconvenient for any of our players. The Executive Officers working with Safety are constantly monitoring the status of restrictions throughout Washington and we will have to review the reopening of game once we get better news from the Governor's office and the Phase statuses for individual counties start to improve.
This has been a difficult year for everyone and would like to encourage everyone to reach out to Legacies friends digitally in whatever form interests you, online gaming, virtual tabletop sessions, in-character online role play, or video conferences. As a reminder we have a separate Legacies (and friends) gaming server to connect players with group online games they enjoy. July 2020 Logistics and Pre-registration Deadlines

Hello everyone long time no see!
The Operations team is being optimistic on the reopening of businesses around Washington that we may be able to hold a July event. Of course, we will have to make a considerable amount of adjustments to the way we play our game in response to the covid-19 pandemic. We are in the process of organizing all of the information we are gathering from the updated Washington State requirements as well as from the Middleground site management and you can look forward to a number of upcoming announcements in the next few weeks slowly outlining some of the changes we want to implement so we can all have a fun and safe event together again.
I'm here to announce today ahead of any other changes we will be making that to provide the logistics team with the maximum amount of time to prepare for event due to the increased production bonus and all the prep we will need to make with the adjusted way we will have to hold the logistics line we are moving the deadline for BOTH logistics submissions and the pre-registration deadline to midnight on JULY 10, 2020. This is a week ahead of what the normal logistics deadline would be. Of course, please submit your logistics updates and/or questions as soon as possible. There will be no early update raffle this month as we try to get everything up and running again.
Now, the reason the pre-registration deadline is being moved to the same date as the logistics deadline is because we are setting a maximum limit to the number of people on site to 50 in accordance with the current restrictions on large gatherings. This does include Plot members and full-time NPCs. With this limited amount of space we will not be using the website's pre-reg list (oh hey btw the website is working again *mostly*, but at a reduced capacity. it's still being worked on) To pre-register for this game you must go to the legacies square store and buy a FREE item listed as the 'July 2020 Event Reservation'. You can find the legacies online store at: http://www.legacieslarp.store/ Using this method for pre-registering will allow us to accurately track the 50 person limit. Please make sure to include your name and the name of anyone else you may be buying a reservation for so your reservation can be completed successfully. We strongly encourage you only purchase one of these reservations if you are absolutely certain you are going to attend event. Reservations have already been set aside for PLOT AND FULL NPCS so if you are either of those for July event you do not need to pre-register with this method. As a courtesy to other players, please email Logistics at any time if you submit a reservation and you later find out that you cannot attend event. There will be no consequence to doing this and it saves us some time by giving your spot to someone else quickly.
Should the 50 person limit be reached through the reservation purchase, another item will be added to the square store for adding your name to a Wait List. How this will work is that everyone who has a reservation has until 10pm Friday night of event to either arrive on site and check-in or message me, the Head of Logistics, the day of event to let me know you are going to be late. Luckily, the Middleground LARP site is equipped with working internet so I will be available to message online throughout the entire check-in process. If you have not arrived on site yet by 10 pm or have not messaged me ahead of time to let me know you are on your way, then your reservation will be given away to the next person on the Wait List. We understand that this is a huge pain but we do have to strictly enforce the 50 person maximum limit to the event. If you are on a Wait List and show up to event and no reservations are freed up for you, we will have to ask you to come back next time. ANY persons who arrive at event without a successful online reservation or without their name on the Wait List will be asked to leave site and come back next month.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this causes but it is one of many changes we must implement to ensure that anyone who attends our events are staying as safe as possible during this crisis. I'm sure there are many questions you might have about other details about event but we ask for your patience. We have several planned announcements on the way but we did not want to bombard the announcement channels with too much info too soon. I will ask that if you have any questions about anything listed above you please post them into the #logistics channel on the Legacies Discord server and we will try to get to them as soon as possible. If your question involves a detail that is still under discussion or is part of an announcement that is coming we will tell you as much so you know an answer to that is on the way
